Free QR Code Generator With No Expiration
A static code from Kuadro keeps working for as long as the link or the information inside it is valid. There is no trial that ends, no scan limit and no account needed to download it, so the code you print today still scans in ten years.
Why a QR code expires, and how ours do not
A QR code can work in two ways. A static code holds the final destination, the link, the text or the network details, inside the pattern of squares. A dynamic code holds a short link that first visits a server and then forwards the visitor.
Only the dynamic kind can stop, because it depends on that server. Static codes from Kuadro depend on nothing, which is why they have no expiry date, no limit on scans and no plan behind them. Making and downloading them is free.
Dynamic codes from Kuadro are a paid extra for when you need to edit the destination or measure scans. They also keep working if you return to the free plan, and they only end on a date that you set yourself.
How to make a QR code that does not expire
-
01
Pick what the code should open
Open the generator, choose the content type and fill in the destination, such as a link, a wifi network or a contact card. No account is needed for this part.
-
02
Leave it as a static code
Keep the code static to store the destination inside the image. That is the version with no expiry and no dependency on any server, ours included.
-
03
Download the file and print it
Style the code, check the scannability meter and download it as PNG, JPG, WEBP or SVG. The file is yours, and it works wherever you print it.
When a lasting code matters
-
Signs and engraved plates
Engraved plaques, signs on a building and labels on equipment stay in place for years. A static code there cannot be switched off by a subscription that lapses.
-
Books, packaging and manuals
A book, a box or a printed manual reaches people long after the print date. A code on it should keep opening the companion page for as long as the product is in use.
-
Wifi for guests and staff
A wifi code in a guest room or an office stores the network name and the password. Guests join with one scan, and no website stands between the code and the network.
-
Business cards
A contact card code with your name, phone and email works on a business card for as long as the details are right. It opens the contact on the phone with no website in between.
-
Small businesses on a budget
Small shops and associations often print one batch of stickers and use it for years. A free static code means they never receive a bill to keep it alive.
Tips for a code that lasts
- Point to an address that will last
- A code never expires, but a website can disappear. Link a page you control, such as your home page, instead of a temporary campaign address that someone may delete next year.
- Choose static only for fixed content
- If the menu, the price list or the campaign will change, a dynamic code avoids reprinting. A static code is perfect for anything fixed, like a wifi network or a contact card.
- Keep the original file
- Store the downloaded SVG or PNG with your design files. If a printer asks for a larger version years later, you can send the same code rather than making a new one.
- Test one print before the whole run
- Before you print five hundred flyers, scan a sample from the distance people will stand and with the phone you have. A code that never expires still has to be readable.
Questions about codes that never expire
Do free Kuadro QR codes expire?
No. A static code from Kuadro stores your link or your text inside the image itself. Nothing on our side has to stay online for it to scan, so there is no date after which it stops.
Is there a scan limit on the free codes?
No. There is no cap on scans for static codes, because a scan never reaches Kuadro. The phone reads the image and goes straight to your website, your wifi network or your contact card.
What happens to a dynamic code if I stop paying?
It keeps redirecting. A dynamic code created on a paid plan still sends people to its destination if the workspace moves back to the free plan. Only the paid extras pause, such as rules by device or country and A/B destinations.
Can a Kuadro code ever stop on its own?
Only when you decide so. A dynamic code can carry an end date that you set yourself, for a contest or a limited offer, and after that date it shows a notice instead of the destination. Without an end date it has none.
Why do codes from some other generators stop working?
Some generators create every code as a short link on their own servers, even the free ones, and switch that link off when a trial ends. The printed code is fine; the redirect behind it is what stops answering.
Should I choose a static or a dynamic code?
Choose static when the destination will never change, such as a wifi password, a vCard or the home page of your shop. Choose dynamic when you may want to change the destination after printing or count the scans.
