Google Reviews QR Code Generator

A Google Reviews code takes a customer straight to the form where they can rate your business and write a review, without searching for your listing first. It works best at the moment of a good experience, such as a paid bill or a finished job, while the customer still remembers the visit clearly.

What a review code links to

A Google Reviews code holds the short review link that Google issues for a business. That link comes from your Google Business Profile, usually from the option labeled Ask for reviews or Get more reviews. The editor field already starts with https://g.page/r/, so replace that prefix with the complete link Google gave you, so it appears only once.

The review link is not the same as the map listing. Someone who searches for your business sees the place page, where ratings and older comments are read, while the short link skips the search and opens the form that asks for a rating. Keep the two apart on printed material, because a reader who wants to see feedback needs the listing and a customer who wants to leave some needs the form.

Google sets its own rules for review requests. A business must not offer payment, discounts or gifts in exchange for a review, and it must not screen customers so that only satisfied ones receive the link. A static code keeps the address it was made with, so if the link in your profile ever changes, the printed code will not follow it and a new one is needed.

Creating a review code in three steps

  1. 01

Copy the link from your profile

Sign in to the Google Business Profile for your location and open the section about reviews. Look for Ask for reviews or Get more reviews, which offers a short link, and copy it exactly. Menus change over time, so search the dashboard for the word review if the option has moved.

  2. 02

Scan the preview as a customer

Scan the preview with a phone that has never reviewed this business. The browser should open a form with your business name at the top, ready for a star rating. If a sign-in screen appears first, that is normal, because Google asks reviewers to hold an account.

  3. 03

    Print with room to scan

Place the code on material a customer already holds, such as a receipt or a table card, and keep the square large enough for a phone at arm's length. Export an SVG for print or a PNG for a tablet display, then check the printed size before ordering a full batch.

Where a review code brings in feedback

  • Receipts and invoices

A line at the foot of a receipt with the code gives the customer a path to write while the visit is still fresh. Keep the wording neutral, inviting an honest opinion, and never connect the request to an offer.

  • Table tents and counter stands

A restaurant or a cafe can place a small stand by the register or on each table. Guests who finish a meal at a relaxed pace have time to scan and write, something the rush at the counter rarely allows.

  • Clinics, salons and studios

A dental office, a hair salon or a physiotherapy studio can attach the code to an aftercare card that the client takes home. Health and personal services are sensitive, so keep the card free of treatment details and personal information.

  • Trade services

Electricians, plumbers and cleaners often finish a job on site and leave a card with the invoice. A code on that card lets the client review the work from the driveway, before the crew has packed up the van.

  • Hotels and short stays

Check-out folders or welcome cards can carry the code, so guests who enjoyed their stay can leave a note before the details fade. Hand the card out after the stay, not as a condition of the booking.

Tips for review requests that stay within the rules

Offer the code to every customer
Google does not permit a business to screen customers and send only the satisfied ones to the review form. Put the code in front of everyone who pays or visits, so the reviews reflect the full range of experiences.
Never attach a reward to a review
Discounts, free items, raffle entries and cash all count as incentives, and any of them can put a business at odds with Google's policies. Print a plain request with no offer attached, even a small thank you that is tied to posting.
Check the link before each print run
Open the code in a browser once a month and confirm that the form still loads under your business name. A printed code that leads to an error page loses the customer who scanned it, and that loss is hard to notice from the inside.
Answer reviews after they arrive
A review left through the code deserves the same attention as one written on the listing. Read each new comment, reply politely and keep the answer short, because a visitor who sees a thoughtful reply is more likely to trust the place.

Google Reviews QR code questions

Is the Google Reviews QR code generator free?

Yes. A static review code costs nothing to create and download, and an account is optional for saving it. The link itself comes from your Google Business Profile, which you manage at no charge.

Where does the review link come from?

It comes from your Google Business Profile, usually under the option labeled Ask for reviews or Get more reviews. Paste that short link into the field of this editor, and avoid the address shown in a search results page, which opens the listing instead of the form.

Do customers need a Google account to leave a review?

Yes. Google asks people to sign in before they post a rating or a written review, so a customer without an account sees a sign-in screen first. Creating a Google account is free.

Can I count how many reviews come through the code?

A static code never logs a scan, so it cannot count anything. A dynamic code on a Pro or Team plan counts scans by day, device and operating system, but that number is not the same as reviews posted, which you read in your Google Business Profile.

Can I offer a discount to customers who leave a review?

No. Google does not allow businesses to offer discounts, gifts or other rewards in exchange for reviews. Keep the printed request neutral and invite feedback without any offer attached.

Which file should I print for a counter stand?

Choose an SVG for a counter stand or a sign, because vector files stay sharp at any size. A PNG at 4096 pixels suits a tablet or a screen, and it is a sensible fallback when a print shop cannot open vector files.
